Swooning Over The Sway

I know I mentioned The Sway handbags when I first discovered the line at The Green Shows last September, but now that we have them in the store, I really wanted to give them a proper mention. I'm so taken by these bags, and I feel that this is one of the first truly "grown-up" bag lines that I've stocked at Kaight. Maybe it's the hardware or the custom linings, inspired by Aboriginal art. Either way, I think the collection provides more than a simple accessory; it is further proof that eco fashion can be luxury fashion. Australian-born designer Belinda Pasqua creates each bag from excess and overstock leathers. Each bag is handmade in NYC (in a factory powered by alternative energy!), minimizing waste and the company's footprint. Attention is even devoted to the smallest details: hangtags, linings and packaging materials are all made from recycled paper and cotton fibers. Now that's true eco-luxury.
